Important Information &  Disclaimer

Gemstone faceting is a skilled artisanal process. However, cutting rough gemstones always involves inherent risks and natural limitations.

Natural Characteristics of Rough

Rough zircon may contain internal inclusions, fractures, stress lines, or color zoning that are not fully visible before cutting. The final appearance of the finished stone depends on the internal structure of the rough. Not every rough stone is suitable for every shape or design.

Weight Loss During Cutting

Faceting always results in significant weight reduction. The finished stone weight typically ranges between 20%–40% of the original rough weight, depending on the shape, proportions, and internal quality.

Pricing is calculated per carat of the finished stone.

Risk Acknowledgment

While we take great care during the faceting process there is always a small risk of breakage during cutting due to internal stress or hidden fractures. Fine Zircon cannot guarantee a specific finished weight, clarity grade, or market value.

By requesting our faceting service, the customer acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks associated with gemstone cutting.

Suitability & Final Decision

  1. We will assess each rough stone and recommend suitable cuts.
  2. The final cutting decision is made in consultation with the customer.
  3. Once faceting has begun, the process cannot be reversed.
